On Wednesday and Saturday nights, 6 winning numbers and a bonus number are randomly selected from 59 numbered balls from a special draw machine, under the observation of an independent auditing firm. To find the TV station in your area that broadcasts the live LOTTO drawings, click here.
Prize Money Allocation
Overall chances of winning on a $1 play - 1: 46.02 Note: Prizes are paid on a pari-mutuel basis and must be claimed within one year of the draw date. For each LOTTO draw, 40% of the sales for the draw is allocated as prize money. This money is distributed as follows:
First Prize
75.00%
Second Prize
7.25%
Third Prize
5.50%
Fourth Prize
6.25%
Fifth Prize
6.00%
The actual prize awarded at each level is determined by dividing the number of winners at that particular prize level into the prize money available for that prize level.
How is the Jackpot Prize Determined and Paid?
There are two LOTTO Jackpot prize payment options. You can receive your prize in 26 graduated annual payments or you can receive the prize in a lump sum cash payment.
LOTTO jackpots are advertised at the annuitized amount. Winners choosing the lump sum option will receive the approximate present cash value of the advertised amount. For the starting jackpot we guarantee a prize amount that includes annuity interest (the money earned during the 25 years of payments).
For any ensuing jackpot levels, the jackpot amount is based upon expected sales plus the First Prize money carried over from the previous draw until the jackpot is won. As the jackpot grows, so does LOTTO FEVER!
